The Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English & Literature Teacher (.8) to join our enthusiastic teaching team for Term 1, 2025. This part-time position offers the opportunity to teach across a range of year levels, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that foster students' critical thinking, creativity, and a deep appreciation for literature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that align with the curriculum for English and Literature.
- Develop and implement strategies to support students' academic growth and personal development.
- Provide a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to thrive.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members and contribute to the school’s wider curriculum development.
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in Education (or equivalent) and appropriate qualifications to teach English and Literature at the secondary level. VIT accredited
- Strong knowledge and passion for English literature, writing, and language arts.
- Experience in creating engaging lesson plans and delivering effective classroom instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to foster an inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and challenged.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in teaching VCE English and/or Literature.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
