Exciting Opportunity: Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) / Educational Leader – Maternity Leave Cover

Prospero Teaching is working with a sessional kindergarten seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) / Educational Leader to cover a maternity leave position. This unique opportunity offers a gradual handover process starting in Term 1, 2025, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition into the role.

About the Role

We are seeking an ECT to cover a maternity leave position. To ensure a smooth transition, the successful candidate will join urgently as a Kinder Assistant in Term 1, 2025, allowing them to receive a detailed handover from Teagan, the current ECT/Educational Leader, who will be going on maternity leave in the middle of Term 2. This arrangement provides ample time for the new ECT/Educational Leader to settle into the role and gain a comprehensive understanding of the kindergarten's operations.

Term 1, 2025 – Kinder Assistant:
Begin by supporting the current ECT/Educational Leader in the room, building relationships with children, families, and staff.

Term 2, 2025 – ECT / Educational Leader:
Take on the full responsibilities of the maternity leave position, ensuring the continuity of high-quality educational leadership and programs.

Position Details

• Maternity Leave Duration: Initially six months, with the possibility of extension.
• Schedule: Sessional kindergarten hours (9 AM to 2 PM).
• Benefits: Paid school holidays during the maternity leave cover period.
• Status: Permanent position.

About You

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teacher who:

• Has a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

• Is available for a minimum of 4 days per week.
